Day 1 – Brussels

Arrive Brussels and transfer to your hotel. Then you are off to take in a bit of Brussels. Begin at the Grand Place, the center of the city and one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Don’t miss the Gothic Town Hall, Manneken Pis, and the Garderobe MannekenPis (museum that house the Manneken Pis clothing).

Day 2 – Brussels

This mornning you will have a walking tour that will include a focus on beer and chocolate. Then in the afternoon, do a little exploring on your own to look for the Brussels Comic Strip Walls throughout the city. This is a fun way to find out a little more about the city. Along the way stop in to see one of the cities most popular musuems, Museum de la Ville Brussels. The museum is dedicated to the history and folklore of Brussels. Or on your stroll through the city, make a point to do a little shopping on the Boulevard de Waterloo.

Day 3 – Brussels

Take time to see a few more sights this morning, like the European Parliment and the Parlamentaim visitors center. Or take in the House of European History Museum if this is of interest. To round out yoru day, take part in the Brussels waffle workshop where you will learn about Belgian waffles and then make and eat them.

Day 4 – Bruges

Take the train after breakfast to Bruges. It has built among a network of canals, so this morning you will enjoy a tour by boat of the picturesque sights of Bruges. Including Belfry Tower, City hall and the Church of Our Lady. This afternoon take in some of the most beautiful and aged achitecture in Belgium, starting with the Belfry that house a carillon. Then a visit of the Church of Our Lady. This church took 200 years to build and it has the tallest spire in Belgium.  The church houses a large collection of art, including Michaelangelo’s Madonna and Child. This is one of the few works of Michaelangeo’s that is outside of Italy.

Day 5 – Bruges

Start with a visit to the Beguinage with its white colored houses and peaceful gardens dating back to 1245. You can still get an idea of everyday life in the 17th century. This is a piece of world heritage and once the home of emancipted lay women who led a celebate life. From here make a stop at a local brewry, Straffe Hendrik that combines a museum with the visit of traditional brewing methods.

Day 6 – Brussels

Train back to Brussels today and drop off you luggage at your hotel before heading over to the Muisical Instrument Museum which has over 8,000 instruments to browse. Then a visit to the Atomium built for the Worlds Fair in 1958 and a unique icon of the city.

Day 7 – Depart

Depart today for your onward journeys or your flight home.
