South-West

The South West wine region encompasses the south-west part of France , but not including Bordeaux, and the Cognac. The region is large, however all of the wine regions are influenced by the Atlantic. The wines near Bordeaux borders have many of the same characteristics and those in the south and east have very distinctive differences. All the wines take the names of the the smaller areas and individual appellations and not Vins du Sud-Ouest.
