Pays de la Loire. The western Loire is a region with many historic castles and châteaux. This area not only includes some of the finest golf courses, a coastline with stone cliffs and scenic port cities, and miles and mile of wine routes.

This is a region that has much to offer and is close enough to add on an extended stay from Paris. You could take the time to see Nantes is the largest city in the region and also the its capital or La Boule which is a chic resort with miles of sandy beaches. Le Mans is known for its car race in June or Saumur known for its mushrooms.

Taste the liqueur from this region it has a bitter sweet taste and is called Cointreau.
